I made it through...
...the weekend. Again. The meeting went great and was over by around 10:30 so we hooked up and headed to the lake. Not the same lake as last week but our "regular" lake. We had a few friends down there camping so we swung by the campground, loaded them all on the Barge and headed out for a bit of sailing, socializing and swigging of beers. It was almost a perfect day for just easing around on the water. If only the wind had been a little calmer. But we managed fine.
Several beers and one sunset later, we tied off at the campground, grilled some shrimp and...yep...drank more beer. It was quite an enjoyable affair. Not to mention the shrimp were kick-ass. I probably ate 20 of them. Around 8 or so, the wife and I weighed anchor and headed back to the truck. We tied the boat up and dropped the trailer at the lakehouse and drove back home. This was a well-laid plan to make sure we went back on Sunday. *wink* As if someone had to twist our arms to get us back on the water. We made it back on Sunday around noon, accompanied by our daughter this time. (She said she was going to study while we just eased around the lake. Riiiiight.) We idled back across the river to the campground, and picked up a couple of the friends and rode for an hour or so. Then we got a call from another couple that was meeting us. They were at the house waiting for us. Off we go to pick them up. Now it's 8 of us aboard. Is this officially a party yet? Why not!?!? Let's have a beer!!
One of the girls is a waitress at a local restaurant and had to be at work at 5 so we rode around looking at properties for sale until around 3:30 and headed back to the campground. We said our goodbyes and headed back to the house to load up. We got home around 4:30, after stopping at the aforementioned restaurant to pick up dinner to go. And as soon as we had things squared away at home, I took a shower and went to bed. I missed Desperate Housewives AND Grey's Anatomy. And don't tell me what happened either. I've got 'em both TiVo'd and plan on watching them in a few minutes. Or maybe tomorrow night after American Idol. (Go Taylor!! Soul Patrol!!) I woke up about 3:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. And I just noticed what time it is now. And now I'm sleepy. I took a few pictures at the lake this weekend. I'll look through them and maybe post a couple in a day or so.
I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
Good Night.
