I was all prepared to watch American Idol tonight and a storm blew in and knocked out the satellite for about 30 minutes. I only saw the last set of songs for each contestant and then the brief recap at the end of the show. From what I did see, I'm afraid the McPheever just got cured. She forgot her lyrics in the first act and then she just...I don't know what she did to the second one...but it wasn't good. And the clothes? Who TF is her stylist? The lady that used to dress Madonna? It's bad when a guy makes negative comments about a hot chick's midriff showing. But that was just not what I would have chosen for tonight. Or even agreed to wear it if I had been her. Sorry, babe. I've pulled for you all season but tonight...nuh-uh.

Taylor did pretty well with the 2nd song, I thought. He put a little twist on it and made it really entertaining. In the recap, he appeared to have enjoyed his first act too. He's in for one more round. Probably even the finals.

Based on the little bit I did get to see, I'd give the whole night to Chris. He was getting on my nerves dragging that mic stand around but he was singing his ass off while doing it. And then the rocking end just sealed it for him. He'll be back for next week's show.

Didn't I tell ya'll Elliot was the sleeper in this thing? He's listened to the judges every week and has done what it takes to hang in there. He's stepped up and is trying to take this thing. And tonight I think he might have just outdone Katharine.

My Idol pick for the week: Elliot and Kat in the bottom. Elliot high-fives the boys while Kat watches the playback of her Idol career and Powter sings "Bad Day". I can only hope I'm wrong this time.
