Out with the old, In with the new

Sort of, anyway.

One day this week when I got home from work, my wife was standing at the bar and said, "I found my patio set. We're going to get it this weekend." Now this usually means 1 of 2 things. "We" are going to go get it or "We" will not be happy until said object(s) or a reasonable replacement have been acquired. Once she sets her eye on something for her our home, it's a done deal. Painting, blinds, wood flooring...the list goes on. She is a determined decorator. So I look at the ad from Lowe's and agree that it is a pretty nice-looking patio set. And 50% off right now. Looks even better now. So it's agreed that we'll go Friday night to pick it up.
So I get home Friday and she tells me that we have to hurry. This particular set seems to be a really fast-mover and they are almost sold out at the Lowe's nearest us (22 miles away). I get my trailer hooked up and off we go. When we get there, it seems that parts of the set she wanted moved a little faster than others. The coffee tables and regular chairs were sold out. They had only one of the rockers left, and it was sold already. They had 3 of the love seats and plenty of the end tables left. Remember me saying that when she has her mind made up, something is going to happen? (Enter the Great Haggler-stage right)
It's times like these that I just sit back and watch and usually wind up feeling halfway sorry for the poor guy/girl in the crosshairs. Within 5-7 minutes (tops), she had 2 loves seats, the "sold" rocker, an end table and one very relieved sales associate. He told me (after she had walked off to look at chase chaisse chaise lounge chairs) "She's a tough negotiator. I bet ya'll get some hellacious deals on vehicles," And we usually do. But that's another topic.
So I did my part and carried the rocker while he pushed the cart up to the checkout. Paid for it all, including a new grill to mount on the boat *wink* then she pushed the cart out to the truck while I carried the chair. As soon as we get to the trailer, she's grinning at me and I know what's coming. With a big beaming smile she says, "I did good, didn't I?"
And yes, I do think she did very good. (I know it's proper to say "did well" but I'm from the South, so it's "good")
Here's the new setup, installed and ready to sit on and enjoy a cool beverage.

We moved the old set out by the pool. Oh, yeah, she bought a new umbrella too. See?

We're off to party with Billy and Sara tonight. See ya'll at the show.
