Revenge is sweet

And so is TiVo.
I know it's been a while since I rubbed it in about mentioned that one of the greatest joys of Tivo is not having to BE at home when something is on TV that I really want to see. So I won't mention it now, either.
Last night, Ohio State took on Texas in Austin. #1 vs. #2 (in both polls). And I was hell-bent on watching that game. But it was also the night we were having a birthday dinner for a good friend of ours.

Conflicting schedules! Oh, the delimna!

NOT!

Set the timer. Go have food and fun (and beer) with friends. Relax. Crisis averted.

I watched the game about 7AM this morning and was very impressed with both teams. I know Kelwhy will beg to differ, but I think Texas is "just as good" as OSU and could beat them any given Saturday. The stats show that the teams were about as evenly matched (in this particular game) as you could hope for. But stats don't win ball games. Points do. And Texas could have racked up over 1000 yards in a single game but if they can't get it in the painted grass, it was all for fun and exercise. OSU put the ball where it counted. Over the goal line and through the uprights. And all on the right Saturday! And that makes all the difference in the world on the plane ride home. Congratulations to the Buckeyes and all the OSU fans out there.

My beloved AU Tigers handed it to MSU yesterday. On a platter, too. Which was to be expected if you're one for the averages. Auburn is 18-1 in previous meetings with the 'Dogs. But I will give Sylvester (Croom) credit for one thing. He shut down the best rusher in the SEC, Kenny Irons. But unfortunately for him, Auburn had more eggs in other baskets.
LSU is coming to town next week. I can't wait. I'm hoping to score a pair of tickets and join the 80,000 on the Plains for probably the best game Auburn will play this year. wish me luck. I hope your team won this weekend, unless you're a Bama or SoCal fan. Most especially SoCal. More on that AND the idiocy that is the BCS later.

I'm going outside to enjoy the fall-like weather.
