My Man!!

Any of you remember this post?

I said Chris Young was the "shizznit." Not in so many words but, I did say he was the man.

Remember this post? I told you about a local station and how they have a "New Music Showdown" every weekday at 5PM. And how they play two new songs and the listeners phone in to vote on who they like the best.

Well this afternoon, I get in the truck after work and who do I hear on the radio? None other than Chris Young himself singing the very song that (in my opinion) won him the Nashville Star competition, "Drinking Me Lonely Tonight." I almost got wood shouted out loud when I heard it playing on the radio. "Finally!!" I thought to myself. The DJs were giving Chris big props on the song and seeing as how he was up against Keith Anderson's "Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll", he drummed the competition by more a margin of than 7 to1. Keith...please...just stick with what you're good at. And that ain't a rock & roll with Steven Tyler.
So I get home and do a websearch and find that his single hit the radios yesterday, but I have to wait until September to get the album What's up with that? Whatever happened to "get it while it's hot" and all that jive?

Anyway...I'm waiting for iTunes or some other online music site to get the song. I did get a new Alison Krauss CD (Alison Krauss and Union Station-Live) for my birthday and I've really enjoyed it so far. I guess I'll just bide my time some more until Chris' new CD "streets" (record biz lingo for a new album hitting the market, similar to 'drops').

Edit-10:03PM:
It's on iTunes!!! I just bought the single. Yeehaw!
